Water Main

Bethesda made national news this morning when a water main broke on a busy road. Luckily, I was already at work when it happened but a few other people never made it. This all happened about a 1/2 mile from my school. Water was rushing down the hill and many drivers were trapped. One of my student's nanny had to be rescued out of the water. To make matters worse, it is very cold here...only about 17 degrees when I left for work. Thankfully, everyone made it out safe and sound. Schools closed two hours early due to lack of water...you can only imagine the reaction of 13 second graders when the announcement was made...they were just a tiny bit excited! Anyway, I've gotten lots of phone calls about it from my far away friends and family so I'm just letting you know everyone at the Peterson house is safe!

I'm off to pack our suitcases for our trip. All of our Coloradoan family, we will see you soon.
