Hannah Funnies

As summer comes to an end, I wanted to share some of my favorite things that Hannah does- mostly so I don't forget- but also because they are cute! Hannah and I had a great summer together and we plan to have one last fun day at the splash pad this week before I go back to work.

Hannah Funnies
(in no particular order)

1. I love that Hannah loves her baby dolls. She spends a lot of time pushing her babies around in their stroller. We may have to upgrade to a double or even triple stroller soon. Two babies, a stuffed dolphin, an Ernie doll, a duck, and a lamb do not seem to all fit! She carries that stroller everywhere with her and you know she is on her way up the stairs when you hear, "ughhh, ughh, ughh." Grunting as she goes, in true Peterson style!

2. Hannah is only allowed to have her paci in her bed (most days). At any given time there are anywhere from 1 to 6 pacis in her bed. When she wakes up and I go in her room to get her she is standing up with a paci in her mouth and the other 5 in her hands! We started playing a game where we tell the pacis bye bye and shake our arms and throw them into the crib. Most days she does it all on her own! Sometimes she will suck on each paci before she throws it.

3. Going with #2, Hannah sleeps with a stuffed bunny. Lately she has her bunny up on the rail of her crib and is giving the bunny one of her extra pacis when I come in to get her.

4. When Hannah hears dishes being done she runs to the dishwasher and helps us unload it... even if we are currently loading it. Yes it takes about twice as long as normal, but I don't want to discourage her from helping out around the house...if only I can find a way to get her to be this eager when she is 14!

5. Hannah now RUNS to her class in Children's Ministry on Sundays. She is dragging us down the halls and when we go pick her up she cries...and NOT because she is happy to see us! This is a big step because for the better part of the last year she cried when we left her and was crying when we went to pick her up (although her teachers always said she didn't cry the entire time...but I think they were just being nice).

6. Hannah LOVES music and wants us to sing to her while we are driving. Her favorite song right now is "The Wheels on the Bus." If you forget to sing the wiper verse she says, "Swish, swish, swish" and does the motions with her hands. Last night in the car she was humming the tune all by herself!"

7. Hannah has been working on counting. We counted blocks the other day and she was very interested in the numbers! The other day she was on my bed while I was showering and when I opened the door to check on her she had a magazine and was turning the pages saying, "unnnnn, oooooo, eeeeee, ourrrrrr, iiiiiiii. She was trying to count!

8. Hannah is obsessed with shoes. She has many pairs of shoes and knows that she wears each pair for a certain reason. I asked her if she wanted to play with her water table and she ran to her shoe basket and got her crocs, because those are her water shoes!

9. I taught Hannah how to put her clothes away in her hamper every night. She runs over with her clothes, drops them on the floor, takes the lid off, puts her shirt in, puts the lid back on, takes the lid back off, puts her shorts in, puts the lid back on, etc, etc, etc.

10. My girl LOVES books! She prefers books to the TV and will spend a long time each day "reading" her books. She now will jabber a story as she turns the pages. She also loves to be read to. We read many stories every night before bed and when Mom and Dad are tired of reading, we say, "One more Hannah." She holds up one finger and says, "One" and then goes and gets TWO books out of her book basket!

Enjoy the video of my Hannah Bear playing with her babies!

Oh, she's just too cute. I can't believe how much she's grown and changed in just a month! I can't wait to see her again. :)
