11 Months

IMG_1080

I can’t believe that little Sadie is 11 months old already.  The time has flown by so quickly.  I still think of her as only being 7 or 8 months old but every time she does something new I am quickly reminded of how big she is getting.  Here is what she is up to these days (I started this post several days ago and updated it today with all the new things she can do):

* Learning to walk!  She took one step several times when we were in Texas and the past two days she has taken 2 steps a few times.  She loves to “walk” everywhere if you hold her hands. UPDATE: She started letting go of the furniture and taking about four or five steps.  She is determined to walk!

* Learning to talk!  It appears as if she is going to skip most of the sign language we are trying to teach her and just go straight to talking.  So far she can say: no, hi, bye, all done, night night, dada, here go (here you go) and uh-oh.  She will also imitate sounds, or tonal inflections, that she hears other people say.  Just today she took my cell phone and said, “Hello” clear as day.  UPDATE: Today I took out my camera to snap a picture of her and she said, “Cheese” when she saw it.  She also loves to say “hi” to strangers and all the way home from Hannah’s dance class she said, “Hi, hi, hi, hi.”   She also said her own name today.

* Climbing stairs. She can make it all the way to the top now.IMG_1123

* She loves to go for rides in the wagon.

* She is eating more and more baby food but still doesn’t like too many finger foods.  She did eat some scrambled eggs the other day and Hannah taught her how to eat cheese.  We are (very slowly) making progress!  UPDATE:  A miracle happened in the Peterson home yesterday.  Sadie ate a grilled cheese for lunch!

* She loves to listen to music and dance.  She especially likes toys that she can shake and they make noise.

* She can throw a temper tantrum with the best of them.  Boy oh boy, when I take something away from her that she wants she throws herself on the floor and kicks her legs.  We may be in for a long few years…sigh.

* When Hannah starts singing If You’re Happy and You Know It, Sadie will clap her hands along with the song.

* This morning Hannah went in to see Sadie when she woke up.  When Kyle went in there to get them Sadie didn’t have pants on.  I told Kyle that Hannah must have taken them off of Sadie.  Then I laid her down for her morning nap and through the baby monitor I hear, “Uh oh….uh oh….uh oh.”  That is never a good sign so I went up there to see what was going on and she was standing up, looking over the side of the crib at her pants that were on the floor.

* She is happy 99% of the time and is constantly smiling.

Oh, Sadie, Gramma can't wait to see you and see all of your new tricks! You are a joy to all of us and I love you! I think you are showing signs of being a clone of your Dad, though.

Sadie Bug - getting so big! Her face has changed a lot in the last couple of weeks - maybe slimmed out a little? Her "baby" look is slowly fading! :( I'm just amazed at how all these girls are growing so fast.
