My days are nothing like I thought they would be. They are even better. What do I do all day?
I finger paint.
I dance and sing.
I spin my girls in the air.
I make cookies with Hannah.
I color.
I play babies.
I answer the question “WHY?” Fifty.Thousand.Times.
I change diapers.
I throw balls.
I pull the wagon.
I draw with sidewalk chalk.
I do puzzles.
I play games.
I sit on the floor and let the littles crawl all over me.
Why? Because I can. I will have the rest of my life to clean my house but these girls are growing too fast not to stop and savor these moments. I don’t want to forget these days.
A few months ago I was on the phone with my Grandfather and we were talking about what I had been doing that day. Like usual, I couldn’t think of anything I had done. So, I just said, “I guess I just played on the floor with the girls.” I was slightly embarrassed by my uncoolness. His response was so great though. He simply said, “You only get to do that for a short time.”
This is what I do all day: (Warning: Tons of photos ahead…I’m getting you caught up on the past few weeks).
Our little stair steps…another one is coming in October. (not mine) They are all already proficient I-Pad users.
All of the girly cousins. Five girls ages 3, 3, 2, 2, and almost 1)
Looking for shapes in the clouds
.
Looking with Daddy.
Cutting strawberries for our fruit salad.
Whoa!
A double rainbow out our front door. We could see the full rainbow and it was beautiful.
If you look closely you can see where it touched the ground on the other side. Kyle asked if I went looking for the pot of gold!
My favorite girls.
I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I'm never going to let my kids read your blog because then they will know that you are a way cooler mommy than I am. Thanks for the reminder that we don't get these days back again. I'm going to work harder from now on on not worrying so much about having a clean house and I'm going to sit on the floor and play more! Love the pictures! They are so cute!
Amen, sister. It's so easy to fall into the trap of feeling like a failure when the house is a disaster! I struggle with this so much. I'm also slowly learning that the other things I'm doing during the day with my little shadow are much more important. Thanks for the reminder! Love you!
Love the pictures! Thanks for sharing them. I have told many people that you and Beth are great Moms because you do spend your time each day with your kids, teaching them about life, playing with them, and loving them. We have 3 very lucky little girls!
I got home last night and saw that you:
(1) Hung new shelves in the playroom
(2) Shampooed the carpets in every room in the house
(3) Cleaned the bathroom, including wiping stinkbug "poop" off of the window sills and baseboards.
and
(4) The kids were both alive and soundly sleeping in their beds.
Love ya.
