Backing Up a Bit

I'm trying to get caught up on posting some pictures so I am backing up a few weeks! Kyle' s mom generously came to Maryland on May 14th to await the arrival of baby Peterson. I think she was waiting a lot longer than she thought she would be! She was here for 2 weeks before Sadie arrived and stayed for another week after she was born. Kim was so helpful with the cooking, cleaning, and helping out with Hannah.  She probably never wants to play a games of Chutes and Ladders again!  Brian was also here for two of those weeks and worked diligently in our yard and got it looking great. I only have a few pictures from their time here- I guess I was too busy waddling around to take many pictures! Thanks Brian and Kim for coming to help us!

Great Grandpa

Hannah’s Great-Grandpa came into town yesterday for a meeting so we got to have dinner with him last night.  Hannah had a lot of fun with “Great Bompa.”  We will see you again next week in Florida Great Grandpa! IMG_3762-1 IMG_3763-1 IMG_3764-1

Gramma and Bompa are here visiting too!  IMG_3765-1

Far Far Away

So last week I had a moment of temporary insanity and decided that it would be ok for Hannah to go visit her Grandparents in Colorado for a week. Kyle's dad flew out and picked her up and took her back to Colorado. I cried when I dropped them off, I cried all the way to work, and I even cried a little at work. In my mind I had thought I would just drop her off and all would be fine and dandy (you know, because I don't cry that much!). Well, I miss my little bear so much! We have talked to her everyday on Skype and as you can see she is having a terrible time in Colorado, being very mistreated by her Grandparents, and getting no attention at all! Tomorrow we are heading to Omaha for a family wedding where we will meet up with Hannah. I can't wait to see this girl!

A Random Post

The past week has been a busy one at the Peterson house! This past weekend we took a short getaway up to Philadelphia. I had never been there before so it was neat to see so many historical places. I will post more about our trip later, but for now here is a picture of Hannah as she tours the city.

We also found out that Hannah will have a little cousin later this year. She is very excited (ok...I am very excited so I think Hannah should be too)! You can read all about it here There actually is nothing to read, but you can see a picture of Hannah's glowing Aunt Beth!

We also have Riley (Aunt Beth's dog) at our house for about 2 weeks. Hannah is breaking her in and I think Riley will be a great big sister, as long as she doesn't treat the new baby like this:

Riley loves carrying around all of Hannah's toys. She doesn't chew them up, unlike Lhotse. Hannah likes Riley's bushy tail and long hair. She follows Riley around squealing!

Yep, Riley is getting some GOOD practice!

Yesterday I watched our friend's son Callan for a few hours. He is about a month younger than Hannah. They were supposed to be born on the same day, but Hannah was impatient and came early and Callan decided he was in no hurry and came about a week late. They had a fun time playing together!

You aren't going to take my cracker are you?

They both needed to shove the crackers in as fast as possible so the other one wouldn't steal them.

Lastly, Today is Grandpa's 50th birthday!! He was here this morning and Hannah sang Happy Birthday bright and early at 6:30! Here she is with her grandpa!

Even MORE Colorado!

Hannah read Harry Potter with Aunt Kelsi.

Hannah and Riley. Riley was not much interested in getting photographed with the baby, she was more concerned that Hannah would be no where near her bone. She was very patient with Hannah- even when Hannah tried to yank her hair out by the fist-full.
