Mom's Last Week of Summer

This week is my last week of summer vacation. I have done a very good job of not going in early to organize my classroom (although the floor in my room wasn't ready...so I had no choice but to stay home)! We have had a great week just having fun around the house. I have decided to make all of Hannah's baby food here at home. So far she has eaten avocados and squash. I also made her sweet potatoes, mango, peas and green beans. She hasn't tried those yet! I'm very happy with how the food has turned out so far and it is SO easy to make. I like making sure that Hannah has all organic ingredients in her food...and I think it is probably a little more economical than buying the baby food jars. I'm excited to keep making her healthy and delicious meals. You can judge for yourself how well she likes the vegetables, but I told her she had no choice! As you can see by the pictures, Hannah is still trying to crawl, she got a new exersaucer and LOVES it, she was eyeing Dad's food at dinner the other night, and she is an avid Gonzaga fan. She has 2 sporting outfits and they are both Gonzaga (we have 2 sets of friends who are alumni) and Kyle says it is a shame that she doesn't have a DU hockey jersey yet...maybe for Christmas.

This Week in Pictures

This was my first week of summer. Hannah and I had a blast staying home together! I'm ready to go to Target!

This week the temperature has been in the 70's. When we left on our morning walk it was only in the low 60's so Hannah needed a sweater. She looks like she is ready for prep school!
My mom says I can't just lay around all day. I have to practice holding my head up. I really don't like it but it is a little better if I have the help of my Boppy.

This isn't so bad now that you showed me how to use my arms to hold myself up!

How long to you plan on making me do this?

Is this another one of those muscle building exercises?

What am I supposed to do with these toys?

My mom thinks I'm cute in this hat.

Swimming

Our goal this summer is to spend as much time at the pool as possible. Luckily, we have good friends whose parents have a backyard pool. Hannah had her first day of swimming on Saturday. She loves the bath so I thought she would also love the pool. She wasn't so sure about all of the water, but she didn't cry. I held her for a while and then we put her in the baby floatie. I gave her the paci and she fell asleep! After about 20 minutes she was done and she spent the rest of the afternoon napping on a beach towel in the shade!

I don't know what swimming is, but I'm ready to go!

This isn't so bad!

Summertime!

Summer weather has begun in Washington. Hannah needed some sunglasses to shade her eyes and I found these at Target. She hasn't put up too much of a fuss about wearing them.
I'm ready to go!
